Come learn about the history and successes of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Weatherization Assistance Program. Established in 1976, this program works with state governments and local weatherization agencies to increase energy efficiency of dwellings for people who may be under-resourced and unable to provide necessary upgrades and amendments to their homes. The program provides funds for people to perform energy audits to see where upgrades could occur, in addition to weatherization services and tools to increase insulation and air sealing. Through these processes, energy bills can be lowered and problems associated with poor health can decrease. Lunch provided.
