Local Restaurants will contribute soup for sampling. The “Souper Bowl” will feature live entertainment and a festive atmosphere while highlighting each partner restaurant. Suggested donation for the event: $10 for students, $15 for adults and $40 per family. The Campus Kitchen at Washington and Lee’s Backpack Program started in 2009 and has expanded to cover all seven elementary schools in Rockbridge and the Head Start programs. This vital program delivers backpacks filled with non-perishable food. Children are guaranteed lunch Monday through Friday and now by sending food home backpacks on Friday night CKWL ensures they have food over the weekend .
