Low-income residents of Rockbridge County are designated a “medically underserved population.” Katy Datz, director of development and outreach at the Rockbridge Area Health Center (RAHC), will join us in Science Center A214 to explain what that means and what are the most acute types of health care shortages in our area. She also will offer insights into what the Affordable Care Act means to RAHC and its patients, what the term “federally qualified health center” means and why such centers are important to public health.
