Constitution Day Lecture: "The Constitution as Experiment: An Interim Report"

H. Jefferson Powell, professor of law at Duke University, will give this year's Constitution Day lecture on "The Constitution as Experiment: An Interim Report." on Sept. 17 at 5 p.m. in the Moot Court Room in the Law School.

Powell has served as a deputy assistant attorney general and as the principal deputy solicitor general in the U.S. Department of Justice, and as special counsel to the attorney general of North Carolina. As a scholar, his particular interests include the Constitution’s distribution of authority over foreign policy, the role of law in executive branch decision-making, and the ethical dimensions of the roles of judge and legal advisor.

The event is free and open to the public.
