Symphonic Development: Sonata to Symphony From its beginnings as part of church sonatas, to the Sinfonia of opera overtures, and into the full blown symphonic works of Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven, the symphony has been and is a constantly developing compositional outlet. The University Orchestra performs pieces from various developmental periods of the iconic form and closes with Haydn's Symphony No. 6 in D major, Morning. No tickets are required.
