Elrod Commons #345

Holly Pickett

“The best summer I’ve ever had.” That is how one VPO alum described the Virginia Program at Oxford experience. Come find out what inspires such enthusiasm on Wednesday, January 23rd, at 4:20 p.m. in Elrod Commons 345. The Virginia Program at Oxford is a W&L sponsored, interdisciplinary summer school program based in St. Anne’s College, Oxford University. Students spend six weeks studying the history and literature of Renaissance England with renowned British dons in a residential college. Students, drawn from a six-school consortium of small Virginia colleges and universities, earn 3 credits in History and 3 in English. These credits may be used to fulfill W&Ls FDR or GE requirements. Some need-based financial aid is available. Put it in your calendars, write it on your hands, just don’t miss this opportunity to find out more about the program a student called “intellectually stimulating, culturally informative, and an absolute blast!” The deadline for applying to the program is February 15, 2013. More information and applications can be found on our website. You can email Professor Pickett at picketth@wlu.edu if you cannot make the meeting or want more information!
