Butch Kelly will speak at the next Earth Friendly Friday, sponsored by the Roanoke Sierra Club and the Unitarian Universalist Church of Roanoke. Mr Kelly taught biology, ecology, and physical and Earth sciences in Roanoke County schools for 26 years. He was the system's energy manager for nine years and for 13 seasons was a National Park Service interpreter on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Butch has a BS from WVU and an MS from Va. Tech. He is a member of Blue Ridge Wildflower Society, Roanoke Valley Bird Club, New River Valley Master Naturalists and the Sierra Club.
The monthly program series Earth Friendly Friday presents topics of interest for environmentalists and those who enjoy and appreciate the natural world. It is the second Friday of each month, Location: The Unitarian Universalist Church of Roanoke, 2015 Grandin Road at Brandon (across from Patrick Henry High School). It is free and open to the public.
