Kay Poursine to Perform Classical Indian Dance

The Washington and Lee Religion Department presents Kay Poursine, world-renowned performer of the Classical Indian Dance Bharata Natyam on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 8 p.m. in the Wilson Concert Hall. Event is free and open to the public.
Poursine studied ballet from age six to seventeen in Japan, The U.S. and Germany. She went on to study under legendary guru T. Balasarawati, considered the greatest classical Indian dancer of South India's classical dance forms, unique for its incorporation of drama, poetry, and song.
She will conduct a lecture and workshop, open to only the W&L community, on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 4:30 p.m. at the Jefferson Street Dance Studio.
