Celebrate The Beatles' 50th Anniversary

February 9, 2014

5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Stackhouse Theater, Elrod Commons

Yeah, yeah, yeah! Celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ first appearance on U.S. television with a free screening of the Feb. 9, 1964, episode of “The Ed Sullivan Show.”

The entire show is a wildly entertaining time capsule of Sunday-night entertainment circa 1964. The other acts on the bill that night included impressionist Frank Gorshin, comedians McCall & Brill, and the original Broadway cast of “Oliver!” (which starred another future teen idol). You’ll feel sorry for the oddball closing act that had to follow The Beatles’ last number. And you’ll marvel at the original ads for Chef Boyardee and other products.
